- To get the most out of this course, I suggest that each week you follow a consistent routine.
- First, you should watch that week's Class Recording. (Some weeks will also include a supplementary Recorded Video Lesson which should also be watched.)
- Following this you should complete the homework that has been assigned for that lesson. Most of the homework problems that are assigned are odd numbered so that you can check your homework in the back of the textbook. The homework is meant to be your practice to prepare you for the quizzes and tests.
- After the homework is complete, you should take the quiz that corresponds to that lesson.
- Once a chapter is complete, you will notice that there will also be a test in addition to the normal weekly material. I hope that this class serves to help you grow in your knowledge and understanding of mathematics!

Course description: Pre-Algebra is a course designed to prepare students for Algebra 1. We will spend time performing basic operations on integers and rational numbers, as well as work on solving one and two-step equations with both integers and rational numbers. This course also covers real numbers and the Pythagorean theorem, proportions, algebra, geometry, percentages, area and volume, probability, statistics, inequalities, and linear functions.

Course materials: Mathematics: Applications and Concepts, Course 3, Student Edition (Glencoe Mathematics), 2005 Edition. We recommend purchasing the book used as they can be found for as little as 0.99 plus s/h.
Student Edition:
ISBN-10: 0078652650
ISBN-13: 9780078652653
Note: You can also buy the Teacher's Edition if you would like to have a textbook with solutions to all problems (student edition only provides answers to odd numbered problems). The downside to using only the teacher's edition is students will not be able to do their homework problems without seeing the solutions right in front of them. This could serve as a great second text to use for extra practice. The ISBN for the teacher's edition are below.
- ISBN-10: 0078668514
- ISBN-13: 978-0078668517
Homework: 2-4 lessons per week with 15-20 homework problems per lesson, 1-2 short quizzes per week, and a chapter test approximately every other week.
Answer Key: An answer key booklet is not included with this course.
