They were part of a vast popular literature of the European world, especially from the 12th to the 16th centuries. What everyone read for four hundred years should be part of our imagination! Caution: These tales have a few swift references to improper behavior among their much more typical exaltations of Chivalric honor.

Homework: Two hours of reading each week, most of it light and enjoyable. Computer-graded quizzes will be available each week, as well as a Final for those families who want these.
