  • Read assignments before class meetings

  • Watch that week’s recording if you need to revisit information from our live session.

  • Do the assignments, quizzes, and any extra work assigned for that week.

  • Once the course is completed to the parent's and professor’s satisfaction, there is a Certificate of Completion at the end to be filled in for your records.

Course Description: This course will be an introduction to all the major areas of psychology. Students will learn about prominent psychological theories and research and be challenged to think critically about these theories and how they apply to the modern world through a Catholic point of view.

Parents should note that mature topics will be touched upon in Developmental Psychology, Personality, and Social Psychology. These topics include gender, Freud’s psychosexual theory, and stereotyping and prejudice.

Homework: There will be pre-recorded lectures to view in addition to the live classes. Students will take online quizzes and complete weekly written activities and discussion questions. An application paper applying psychological principles to some form of media will also be required (approx. four to six pages). Expect to spend 1-3 hours per week on homework outside of class.
