In this course, students will experience the story of our faith through Scripture. Join Mr. Egan and your fellow students and come to a new & profound understanding of God and His love for you.

How to get the most out of this course:

  • Carefully read the course details below.
  • Order the textbook.
  • Prepare a notebook for taking notes during lectures and readings.
  • Students begin the course by clicking on the "Recording" and watching the lecture.
  • Complete the Reading Assignment. 
  • Do the homework assigned in each Topic.
  • If you need review, go back and watch the recording again, check your notes, and/or reread the assigned reading.
  • Repeat until all 14 classes are complete.
  • Once the course is completed to the parent's satisfaction, there is a Certificate of Completion at the end to be filled in for your records. 
  • Make sure to record all grades. HSC does not provide record-keeping services.

Special Notes: This is Part One of a two-part course. Students are expected to sign up for Understanding the Gospels with Mr. Egan in the spring.

Course Description: This course will cover the Big Picture of Salvation History. Following the 6 major covenants, using a combination of the Jeff Cavins Bible Timeline and John Burgsma's Bible Basics as our guide, students will go through the 14 narrative books of the Bible that tell the story.

Course Materials: Catholic Bible, preferably the RSV CE (Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition). Also colored pencils, notebook. And Jeff Cavin's Bible timeline.
