Master middle school math with the 7/6 Saxon Math course introducing functions and coordinate graphing, integers, exponential expressions, and prime factorization. Students will also learn about the order of operations, number lines, decimal place value, how to find the percent of a number, how to round decimal numbers, the attributes of geometric solids, and more. Part 1 of 2.

Course Description: Building upon the principles taught in Saxon Math 6/5, the Saxon Math 7/6 textbook introduces functions and coordinate graphing, integers, exponential expressions, and prime factorization. Students will specifically learn about the order of operations, number lines, decimal place value, how to find the percent of a number, how to round decimal numbers, attributes of geometric solids, and more.
Lessons contain a warm-up (with facts practice, mental math, & problem-solving exercises); introduction to the new concept, lesson practice exercises where the new skill is practiced, and mixed practice exercises, which includes 25-30 old and new problems. In-depth "Investigations" are provided every 10 lessons, and have their own set of questions.

  • Class 1-3: Lessons 1-10

  • Class 4-5: Lessons 11-20

  • Class 6-7: Lessons 21-30

  • Class 8-9: Lessons 31-40

  • Class 10-11: Lessons 41-50

  • Class 12-14: Lessons 51-60

Course Materials: Saxon 7/6 Homeschool Kit, Fourth Edition. Other materials include a compass, protractor, ruler, graph paper, and a scientific calculator.

Homework: Daily assignments (aside from test days) taking 10-25 minutes, with quizzes and tests occurring every one to two modules.
