How to get the most out of The Chronicles of Narnia for High School, Part One with Kevin O’Brien:

  • First, read the course materials below before the first class meeting.

  • Then have a notebook ready and available for class notes each live session.

  • Read assignments before class meetings

  • Watch that week’s recording if you need to revisit information from our live session.

  • Do the assignments, quizzes, and any extra work assigned for that week.

  • Once the course is completed to the parent's and professor’s satisfaction, there is a Certificate of Completion at the end to be filled in for your records.

NOTES: This is Part One of a 2-part course. Students are expected to also sign up for Part Two in the spring semester. 

A middle school version of this course is also available on Mondays, 1:00 PM Eastern.

Course description: The Chronicles of Narnia is a masterpiece of Christian children’s literature. We will read all seven books in the series over a two semester period, discovering the Christian themes and examining character development and symbolism. This will be an exciting class with fun reading that will strengthen your faith!

Course materials: The Chronicles of Narnia, any edition. 

Homework: Four to five chapters of each book will be read per week and discussed in class the following week. There will be a weekly auto-graded quiz for immediate feedback and to make sure students are keeping up with the reading. The reading should take approximately two hours per week.
