Course description: Often we approach prayer hoping for great communication with God, and then sit in silence, get distracted, bored, or even upset when our prayer is not bearing fruit. In this course, we will learn historic prayer practices. This will include Lectio Divina the Divine Office, ways to improve rosary meditation, and more.
Course outline:
1. Introduction and Rosary Meditations
2. Lectio Divina and the Bible
3. Prayers for building specific virtues.
4. The Divine Office
Course materials: A Catholic Bible and a notebook. If you have a Liturgy of the Hours book that is good to have, but an online copy can also work.
Homework: The homework will be practicing these prayer techniques. Expect to spend at least 20 minutes each day.
