How to get the most out of "Spanish I, Part One" with Irma Luz M. Schmitt:
- First, review the introductory materials listed below.
- For each class you will work in all the assignments first and then you will watch the class recording.
- For each class your assignments will be:
- Vocabulary, grammar class video, grammar homework (online quizzes), speaking exercises, and memorization exercises.
- Some classes will also have:
- Workbook pages, pronunciation class video, pronunciation homework (recordings), and reading/listening practice as well.
- And remember, for each class the materials will be listed in the order they should be completed.
- When you watch the grammar videos and the pronunciation videos, take notes and study them. Also have a notebook ready for the recorded class.
- The final thing is to practice, practice, practice!
- Once the course is completed, there is a Certificate of Completion at the end to be filled in for your records.

Course Description: This is an introductory course to the Spanish language and covers the basics of Spanish as a second language. In this course, the student will learn the meaning, pronunciation, and spelling of common vocabulary and basic Spanish grammar.
Part One of the course teaches the meaning and pronunciation of the alphabet, words, and phrases, and it emphasizes how to write sentences in Spanish using articles, nouns and adjectives in Spanish and provides an understanding of the number and gender relationship between them. The course also teaches how to write questions and answers using some interrogative words such as ¿Qué? ¿Quién? ¿Dónde? ¿Cuándo? ¿Cuánto? and introduces the student to the conjugation of regular verbs in the present tense. By the end of Part I, the student will be able to understand and write simple dialogs in Spanish.
