How to get the most out of Advanced Middle School Latin, Part One – Ecce Romani with Mrs. Henry:

Have all required course material BEFORE our first class meeting
Have a notebook just for Latin class 
Have a working mic and headset/ear buds 
Add corrections to your homework assignments during in-class review
Study, study, study 

Notes: Completion of Part One and Part Two of Advanced Middle School Latin will prepare students to skip High School Beginning Latin and take High School Intermediate Latin in the Fall 2021 semester (compatible with either Henle Intermediate Latin or Wheelock’s Intermediate Latin).

This is a 2-part course. Students are expected to also sign up for Part Two.

Total classes: 12

Duration: 55 minutes per class
Prerequisite: Intermediate Middle School Latin, Part One and Two (or the equivalent.) A placement exam is available for students who did not take middle school Latin with Homeschool Connections by emailing homeschoolconnections@gmail.com.

Course description: Ready to move forward from our Middle School Intermediate Latin courses? You can pack a full semester’s worth of Advanced Middle School Latin this summer in just three weeks! This course is the next step in your Middle School Latin journey! Upon completion of Part One and Part Two of Middle School Advanced Latin, students will be ready to enter High School Intermediate Latin. We will continue to learn grammar and improve our translation skills. This course will help prepare students for future Latin classes at the high school level. Students will participate in an engaging class each day in which they will learn the fundamentals of Latin. There will be optional homework assignments and fun activities to encourage students to develop strong study skills. Come join us for this summer adventure!

Homework: Students can expect a variety of assignments that could include exercises to reinforce concepts learned with an ultimate goal of translating Latin into English proficiently. Students taking this course will have three options regarding homework. Students will need to specify which option they have chosen at the start of the course.
