How to get the most out of  Career Quest: How to Prepare for Life After High School, Part Two with Tammy Parker:

  • First, read the course materials below before the first class meeting.

  • Then have a notebook ready and available for class notes each live session.

  • Read assignments before class meetings

  • Watch that week’s recording if you need to revisit information from our live session.

  • Do the assignments, quizzes, and any extra work assigned for that week.

  • Once the course is completed to the parent's and professor’s satisfaction, there is a Certificate of Completion at the end to be filled in for your records.

Special Notes: This is Part Two of a 2-part course – Precede the course with Career Exploration in the fall. New students may be accepted midyear with special permission from the instructor and if there are available seats.

Course Description: Hitting the ground running with the habits and skills from Career Explorations, students will further their journey to lifepath decisions with continued investigations, journaling, prayer, and discussion. Continue to support and embolden your student to find where God is leading, as the student researches possibilities, hones inquiry skills, and strengthens habits moving ideas and decisions forward with greater confidence.

  • Week 1: Introductions & Goals

  • Weeks 2: Review & Updates: Charisms, Talents, & Skills

  • Weeks 3: Review & Updates: Education & Training

  • Weeks 4 - 5: Review & Updates: Opportunities

  • Weeks 6 - 9: Investigations

  • Week 10 - 12: Student Presentations & Wrap-Up

Course Materials: The course provides FREE online resources; bring your favorite pen and a nice bound or lined journal (similar to ISBN: 978-1642720129).

Homework: Students should plan two to three hours per week outside of class time for daily journaling, weekly reading, weekly assessments and/or investigations, and a final presentation.
